Papers submitted after the ISCMT 2017 have been published in Annales Universitatis Paedagogicae Cracoviensis | Studia ad Didacticam Mathematicae Pertinentia Vol. 10 (2018)

Participants who consider publishing their papers should send their completed manuscripts by the end of March 2019.

I. Papers explicitly addressing the concept of transgression

We plan to publish a monograph addressing various aspects of mathematical transgressions. All the Authors interested in developing their own understanding of the concept or willing to elaborate on how the concept sheds new light on their contemporary or past research, are invited to submit a chapter to be considered for publication. The book will consist of invited papers and conference submissions corresponding with the spirit of the monograph.

The editors of the book (P. Błaszczyk, B. Pieronkiewicz) plan the following topics to be addressed:

1. Mathematics, its history and philosophy

This part will address transgressions that one may find in the development of mathematics as a scientific discipline and groundbreaking moments in the historical development of some mathematical concepts which bear the transgressive characterisitic.

2. Mathematics education, its history and philosophy

This part will address transgressions that one may find in the development of mathematics education (also: didactics of mathematics) as a scientific discipline and groundbreaking moments in the historical development of some didactical concepts as well as approaches to the teaching of mathematics.

3. Psychology of the teaching and learning of mathematics

We invite theoretical papers developing the concepts (conceived by scholars who attended previous editions of ISCMT conference) of cognitive, affective and conative transgressions and research based papers providing empirical evidence of transgressive aspects of mathematics education.

4. Mathematics and Arts

Crossing the boundaries of mathematics in order to build a bridge between this scientific discipline and the language of artistic expression.
